Title of the focus group:
Innovative teaching and learning methods to promote students scientific basic skills
Date of the focus group:
20 September 2017
Place of the focus group:
Bragança, Portugal
Description of the focus group:
The focus group had 30 participants: 9 researchers from IPB, 19 teachers from secondary schools and 2 professors from Baber Bolyai University (Romania).

The participants from the secondary schools were from science areas (math, biology, geology, geography, chemistry).

The focus group included four presentations about innovative teaching and learning methods to promote students scientific basic skills.

In conclusion, teachers considered that many videos could be easily integrated in the classroom context in the future, as they illustrate important concepts studied in the curricula. In some cases, videos could replace study visits to the surrounding natural areas, as they are not always feasible. This is of course much more relevant when using the videos of the other partners of the project. Other videos constitute lesson guides that could be adapted to other locations.
