INTRODUCTORY TEXT TO THE LESSON
The teacher introduces his lesson by recapping on previous classes and puting his plan for the lesson in context.
A review of the process of photosynthesis is carried out with the students. Some questions and answers form a dialogue between the teacher and the students.
A review of the diffferences between plant and animal cells is carried out, again with questions and answers based around diagrams and powerpoint displays of questions.
This lesson looks at the role of chloroplasts in the process of photosynthesis. The students prepare microscope sections of leaves to look at the chloroplasts. They demonstrate how to prepare and stain the sections of plant tissue. The lesson ends with the microscope set for viewing.
