INTRODUCTORY TEXT TO THE LESSON The theme of the lesson: The diversity of animals thatlive in lake Graužys.
The objectives of the lesson: students will learn about vertebral animals, acquire a sence of responsibility.
The majority of the animals are multicellular, they are able to move and respond to the environment. Vertibrals is the largest subtype of the chordate animals class. The main signs of vertebrate animals are: vertebrae around the chord, the central nervous system is formed of the brain and spine, respiratory and digestive system are separated. It is believed, that the first chordate animals appeared in the early Cambrian period (570 million years ago). Their ancestors, probably, were relatives of sea stars.
We have observed the following classes of vertebrates:
• Amphibias
• Reptiles
• Birds
