E-learning from Nature: Feeding Relationships on the rocky shoreline

INTRODUCTORY TEXT TO THE LESSON
The teachers and students used their study of the rocky seashore to look at a number of topics:
What is nutrition: They found examples of herbivores, carnivores and omnivores while studying the seashore.
What is a producer: the students saw the importance of photosynthesis .
What is a consumer: this extended the study of nutrition and included a consideration of organisms that feed off dead organic matter.
What is a food chain: an example of a food chain from the rocky seashore was described. The terms predator and prey are also described..
What is a food web.
