BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANISATION
CIMO - Centro de Investigação de Montanha (Mountain Research Center), based at the School of Agriculture of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal, is a multidisciplinary research centre focused on mountain issues. Most of CIMO members are faculty at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and University of Madeira.
CIMO aims at studying and valorising mountain natural resources, forest and agriculture ecosystems, and local products in order to develop sustainable systems economically, socially and environmentally. CIMO is socially committed at enhancing opportunities and income for and in mountain areas.
HOW THE ORGANISATION WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE DISSEMINATION AND EXPLOITATION OF THE PROJECT RESULTS
This research centre maintains a permanent and close collaboration with the schools of the region, supporting several education activities. Therefore it is a privileged partner to promote and disseminate the project information within its network of contacts in the Education area, contributing to the maintenance of the project results in the future.
