3.4 Photo editing
Photo editing is always a smart way to present things in a very special way. An edited photo enhanced with filters, text, and visual effects, a nice photo collage or even a presentation of a photo story, are only some examples on how to attract students' interest and attention. Many tools and online platforms are available on the internet, providing any kind of photo editing. The most online services have a free version to use, offering also premium features for a subscription. They also require having flash installed on the computer to edit the photos.
  • Befunky.com – BeFunky develops innovative digital media tools that let people become instant artists and express themselves creatively without the need for any technical knowledge.
  • Pizap.com – Pizap is a Photo editor, Collage maker and Design tool. It's also available (as app) on iOS and Android devices.
  • Fotor.com – Fotor is an online photo editing suite, utilizing exclusive technology to bring an unprecedented level of editing control to anyone and everyone. While the ‘collage’ and ‘edit’ features are already enjoyed by millions of users, daily, the new ‘design’ feature gives the common user the ability to design any form of graphics and cover, limited only by imagination. Fotor is also available for iOS and Android devices.
  • Freeonlinephotoeditor.com – an online free photo editor. You can resize, sharpen and/or rotate your photo. Several filters and effects are available to enhance your photo: Red Eye Removal, Sepia, Enhance, Sharpen and Polaroid Effect. Afterwards, you can download your photo or save it online.

Except from the online tools, there are plenty of free applications to use for photo editing. The best of them are listed below:
  • GIMP – GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a superb free alternative to Adobe Photoshop, and comes with a huge array of professional-quality functions for fine-tuning images and photos, and creating your own artwork from scratch.
  • Paint.NET – Paint.NET is a powerful, easy-to-use image editor that offers features similar to those that you’ll find in Adobe Photoshop and GIMP.
  • Photo Pos Pro – Photo Pos Pro is one of the most popular photo editors around the world! Has free and premium photo editing features offers users a wide variety of possibilities in the fields of Image Enhancing and Image Editing and in the field of Computer Graphics Design.
  • PhotoScape – PhotoScape is a fun and easy photo editing software that enables fixing and enhancing photos.
