INTRODUCTORY TEXT TO THE LESSON A Math lesson was prepared while developing Erasmus+KA2 international project’s “E-Learning from Nature” outcomes. The lesson ”Learning to draw rectangle according Pythagorean Theorem“ was developed in the park near the school. The students had the task to designate possible foundations of square shape playground.
The teacher from Kaunas Jonas and Petras Vileišiai school – multifunctional centre Aušra Marija Bidvienė presented the lecture.
Learning objectives: to learn to draw rectangle according Pythagorean Theorem and apply the rule designating the foundations of square shape playground for kindergarten children.
Students accomplished the task working in groups. They were encouraged to collaborate and help each other. After thirty minutes, they noted three playgrounds contours, and gave feedback on each other's work. The activity helped to think not only about the Pythagorean Theorem but also about important each person's contribution in creating more beautiful and comfortable environment.
